Call for Volunteers

United Way Community Investment Teams

United Way of the Cape Fear Area needs volunteers to participate in the Community Investment process. The Community Investment Teams are comprised of diverse individuals who have a combination of the following skills:  strategic planning, outcome measurement, community leadership and financial expertise.  The members of the Community Investment Teams are representative of the region served by the United Way of the Cape Fear Area, and include residents of Columbus, Pender, Brunswick and New Hanover Counties.  Each member personally reviews and scores funding applications from local agencies. They also participate in a group discussion and develop a consensus based score. Each individual can expect to dedicate a total of 20-25 hours to this process. This will include approximately six hours of council meetings taking place over a period of 1-2 months.

In 2008 more than 50 community members participated in this process. If you are interested in becoming involved, please e-mail mallory.broomfield@cfauw.org
